no, but I'll be there on friday. our local braille institute will be taking a group of us there.
I have to say, it's truely an awsome event!
I only wish I was.
Care to keep us updated on what's happening there? Our own zone reporter as it were?
I'm going today, I'll let you know how it goes.
what exactly is this event?

Oh my gosh my friend Rachel and I want to go in 2011.
I went to CSUN in 2006. It was interesting, but I'm not quite enough of a techy to spend a whole week on it. LOL.
Joanne, it's a conference run by the Distability Services office at California State University at Northridge. That's what CSUN stands for. It's usually held at the Marriott that's right by the Los Angeles airport, I believe. It's to showcase technology for all kinds of different disabilities, not just blindness. I think it usually last about a week.
lol, that's right.
haha...I wrote this post and promptly forgot about it! uh. sorry guys lol. was having too much fun at csun!!
it was awesome though! I'll give a three week late? report lol.
lots of really cool things unvailed including orator, the new screenreader humanware is developing for blackberry. I'm pretty excited about that although I'm not sure I'd go out and spend major bucks on it yet, it's still very much in beta and not really usable yet. I got to try it though and successfully navigated my way through the callendar and contact apps. the voice is a bit strange, it's the Samantha voice I believe and sounds really muddy. I found it hard to understand sometimes and they don't seem to have any plans to change it. so yeah, it looks like a really cool thing and will be great when it's further along I'm sure. it was really exciting to get to be one of the first to play with it, lol.
there is a new qwerty keyboard braille sense that looks cool, I love when qwerty models of things come out lol.
Stevie Wonder made an appearance, it was cool to say hi to him!!
and I had major fun wandering around the exhibit hall and meeting tons of new and awesome people. I recommend everyone go at least once in their lives! it's awesome!!!! next year it'll be in San Diego which will be interesting. I'm not sure how down I am with such a huge change! lol. I love LA!!! but I'm sure it'll be just as awesome.
I could go on all day, I had such a great time and I didn't even begin to scratch the surface! I recorded a lot of the sessions I attended, maybe I can send if anyone wants? lol.
anyway, this is complicated melody signing off! lol.
yes! it'll be in SD! I don't have to go anywhere next time, cuz I'm already here. lol.
